At the ending of book 1 we realize she has changed. The youngest sister, Caterina, is both the most interesting and the dullest. This is a positive message for our young folk that needs to be embraced more often. I'm proud of the other for bringing to life a character in, Aaa, who can be strong minded despite the destruction of her facial appearance. So many books put too much value in their characters being "Beautiful". One thing I like about her is her self acceptance. She spends tge most time writing on this character and her companions. The middle sister, Arinsoe, is the one the author seems to push as her favorite. She is the sister the other characters in the book seem to root for. She is also the most sentimental of the three. The oldest, Mirabelle, is the only one with real magic. As expected, their plans to kill each other don't always go as expected. One for revenge, one to stay alive, and one because she is now nuts. The sisters are fully engaged in the Accession year. Now I don't mean Die Hard or John Wick type action, but a good number of fights, a dual, and a mini escape scene. Unlike Book 1, we get a faster pace and some actual murders. Thank the Goddess this book has some action.
